To stay closest to Gnosis Pay's model, a card that spends from a wallet you control, look first at MetaMask Card (free virtual card; its EEA list leaves out the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and new UK sign-ups are paused) or Bleap (EEA and Switzerland only). ether.fi Cash has the highest headline cashback and accepts UK residents, but it is a credit card with its own borrowing rules. Holyheld has moved to an invitation-only membership.
If you are willing to let the card provider hold your balance, KAST, RedotPay and Tria are the three cards this site partners with. KAST and RedotPay keep a US-dollar balance, so every euro or pound purchase pays an FX fee. KAST and Tria do not publish a full country list, and RedotPay's restriction lists include Croatia and Slovenia.
The shutdown date comes from CoinDesk and CryptoBriefing reports of an email Gnosis Pay sent to cardholders on September 21, 2026. As of September 25, 2026 we found no permanent public page from Gnosis Pay confirming it. Background is in our Gnosis Pay countries and shutdown guide.
What happens and when (as reported)
Dates below follow the CoinDesk and CryptoBriefing reports and the cashback terms already covered on our Gnosis Pay guide.
| Date | What changes |
|---|---|
| 2026-09-21 | Gnosis Pay emails cardholders that the consumer card and web app will end. |
| 2026-09-30 | Last day of eligibility for the tiered GNO cashback programme. |
| 2026-10-07 | Final GNO cashback distribution. |
| 2026-12-20, 23:59 UTC | Cards stop processing payments and ATM withdrawals; the web app stops normal operation. |
| After 2026-12-20 | The web app stays in a limited mode for withdrawing funds. Funds in your Safe are self-custodial and have no reported withdrawal deadline. Partner apps such as MiniPay are cited as handling migration. |
What to do before December 20, 2026
- Get the replacement approved first. KYC and card issuance can take several days, and providers turn applicants away by residence or citizenship. Make a small test purchase with the new card before moving most of your balance.
- Move recurring payments. List every subscription, utility and online account that charges the Gnosis Pay card and change the card on file. Charges that arrive after December 20, 2026 will be declined.
- Save your records. Export or screenshot your transaction history and statements while the full web app still works; you may need them for a tax return or a dispute. Note the final cashback payment scheduled for 2026-10-07.
- Plan the route for your funds. Gnosis Pay balances sit on Gnosis Chain in currency tokens such as EURe. The MetaMask Card and Tria funding pages we checked do not list Gnosis Chain, so expect a bridge or swap, or an off-ramp to your bank account first. Send a small test amount before the full balance.
- Keep access to your Safe. The reports mention no deadline for funds in the Safe, but you still need the login or signer you use today to reach them. Do not delete that account or wallet until the Safe is empty.
- Redirect incoming transfers. If you had an IBAN linked to your Gnosis Pay account, give payers your new details. The reports did not say what happens to linked IBANs after December 20, 2026.
- Check MiniPay if you were offered a migration. The reports cite partner apps such as MiniPay for migration. We have not reviewed MiniPay's card offer, so compare it against the options below like any other card.

MetaMask Card
The closest match for most Gnosis Pay users in the EEA: you designate tokens in your own MetaMask wallet and set a spending limit, and the card converts them at the moment of payment. The eligible list on MetaMask’s help centre covers most EEA countries plus Switzerland, but not the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania. MetaMask says it has temporarily paused new sign-ups in the United States and the United Kingdom; existing cardholders are not affected. The virtual card has no annual fee and earns 1% in mUSD. Per the fee table, spending a stablecoin in your local currency (EURe for euro residents, GBPe for UK residents) costs nothing, a stablecoin in another currency costs 0.5%, and using the card with a merchant outside your country costs 1%. Virtual card users outside the US cannot withdraw cash. Details: MetaMask Card countries and fees.
ether.fi Cash
The strongest cashback on this list, with a catch: ether.fi calls Cash a crypto-native credit card. In Direct Pay mode it spends USDC or LiquidUSD from your vault; Borrow Mode spends against collateral and charges interest from day one. The country list includes the United Kingdom and most EEA states; Belgium and Ireland get a virtual card only, and Estonia, Finland and the Netherlands are not listed. Core membership is free. Core earns 3% on the first USD 2,000 of monthly spending, then 1% and 0.5%; euro purchases use a lower ladder (3% on the first USD 800 equivalent) because ether.fi adds no FX markup on euro purchases. Cashback is paid in ETHFI, a volatile token, after a 7-day lock. Details: ether.fi Cash review.
Bleap
A non-custodial Mastercard debit card issued by Unlimit EU Ltd in Cyprus. Per the EEA cardholder terms (updated May 25, 2026), it is open to adults resident in the EEA or Switzerland, subject to KYC and a list of excluded nationalities; the UK is not mentioned. The card debits your Bleap wallet through a direct-debit mandate. Bleap charges no issuance, monthly, usage or FX fee of its own, though Mastercard, network, merchant and ATM operator charges can apply. The advertised “up to 20%” USDC cashback depends on category and offer, so check the in-app terms before counting on it. Details: non-custodial cards compared.
Holyheld
Our July 2026 comparison listed Holyheld's public card tiers and a 30-country list. As of September 25, 2026, holyheld.com instead presents a personal membership “by invitation” that includes card spending, priced at CHF 0 a year on its pricing page, with EUR 1 per outgoing SEPA transfer and 1% for on- and off-ramping. It no longer publishes card tiers, card fees or a country list, so we cannot confirm who can get a card. Treat it as an option only if you receive an invitation.
These three pay this site a commission when you open an account through the buttons below. That does not change the facts in the table; note that two of them hold your funds for you, which is the opposite of what Gnosis Pay offered.
KAST
KAST keeps your money as a US-dollar balance: supported stablecoins are converted 1:1 when deposited. Its terms of service state that assets transferred into KAST are sold to KAST and held by a custodian on KAST's behalf, not for the user, and name KAST Tech, incorporated in Anjouan, Comoros, as the operator. KAST does not publish a country list; its help centre says the sign-up dropdown is the check. Its Apple Pay availability page (updated September 10, 2026) lists the UK and every EEA country as residence countries where Apple Pay works for KAST cards, which suggests accounts exist there, but it is not an eligibility statement. The Standard tier is free and pays 1.5% in USD on the first USD 2,000 a month; non-USD spending carries a 0.5–1.75% FX fee per the fee page, which KAST itself shows as an “up to 1%” net effect for Standard. Details: KAST fees.
RedotPay
RedotPay is a custodial card account with a USD card. Its unsupported-countries list blocks KYC for citizens of listed countries, and both that list and the card issuance restrictions include Croatia and Slovenia, the only EEA members on them. The UK is on neither list, but RedotPay publishes no list of supported countries, so its absence is not a confirmation. Cards cost USD 10 (virtual) or USD 100 (physical), once. Spending in the card currency is free; other currencies cost 1.2%, crypto conversion 1% and ATM withdrawals 2%. Cashback is offered through the paid Pro plan. Details: RedotPay fees and ATM limit.
Tria
Tria sits between the two models. Its wallet is self-custodial and its International Card Terms say neither Tria nor the issuer holds custody of your collateral, but a top-up converts crypto into a card balance that is separate from the wallet. Its KYC help article names Germany and the United Kingdom among supported countries and points to the in-app dropdown for the full list; we could not verify other EEA countries from official pages. The virtual card is shown as free on tria.so and earns 1.5% up to USD 100 a month, then 1%. Tria charges no deposit or FX fee of its own, but Visa FX and a variable provider fee on top-ups can apply. Details: Tria fees.
The “Open” buttons are affiliate links; we may earn a commission at no cost to you. MetaMask Card, ether.fi Cash, Bleap and Holyheld are not partners. Figures checked on September 25, 2026 on each provider's official pages.
How to choose: custody, currency, cashback
- You chose Gnosis Pay for self-custody. MetaMask Card or Bleap, if your country is on their list. Neither card holds a balance for you. ether.fi Cash also keeps assets in your vault, but read the Borrow Mode rules first.
- You spend mostly in euros or pounds. Prefer cards that do not convert through US dollars: MetaMask Card with EURe or GBPe (0% token fee), Bleap (no Bleap FX markup) or ether.fi Cash (no markup on euro purchases). KAST (0.5–1.75%) and RedotPay (1.2%) charge FX on every euro purchase, which eats most or all of KAST's 1.5% cashback.
- Cashback matters most. ether.fi Cash Core pays 3% on the first USD 2,000 a month, but in ETHFI and less on euro purchases. Tria's virtual card pays 1.5% up to USD 100 a month, KAST 1.5% on up to USD 2,000 of spending, MetaMask 1% in mUSD.
- You need cash from ATMs. MetaMask's virtual card has no ATM access outside the US. ether.fi Cash, KAST and RedotPay's physical card allow ATM withdrawals with fees; Bleap adds no fee of its own, but operators can.
- You live in the UK. Choices are narrower: ether.fi Cash lists the UK and Tria names it. RedotPay does not restrict it but publishes no positive list, and KAST publishes no list. MetaMask has paused new UK sign-ups and Bleap covers only the EEA and Switzerland.
FAQ
When does the Gnosis Pay card stop working?
According to CoinDesk and CryptoBriefing, Gnosis Pay emailed cardholders on September 21, 2026 that the direct-to-consumer card and web app stop at 23:59 UTC on December 20, 2026. As of September 25, 2026 we found no permanent public page from Gnosis Pay confirming the date, so treat it as reported.
Will I lose funds left in my Gnosis Pay Safe after December 20, 2026?
Per the reports, funds in the Safe are self-custodial and no withdrawal deadline applies to them, and the web app stays in a limited mode for withdrawals. Moving funds before the date is still simpler, and you need to keep access to the login or signer you use for the Safe.
Which card is the closest replacement for Gnosis Pay?
For a card that spends directly from a wallet you control, MetaMask Card and Bleap are the closest, if your country is eligible. MetaMask Card's EEA list leaves out the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and new UK sign-ups are paused; Bleap is limited to the EEA and Switzerland.
What are the options for UK residents?
ether.fi Cash lists the United Kingdom, and Tria's help centre names it among supported countries. RedotPay's restriction lists do not include the UK, and KAST does not publish a country list. MetaMask Card has paused new UK sign-ups, and Bleap's terms cover only the EEA and Switzerland.
Why do KAST and RedotPay cost more for euro spending?
Both keep your balance in US dollars, so paying in euros or pounds is a currency conversion. KAST lists a 0.5–1.75% FX fee on non-USD spending and RedotPay 1.2% for transactions outside the card currency. Cards that spend euro stablecoins or add no FX markup avoid this cost.
Does this site earn money from these recommendations?
Yes, from KAST, RedotPay and Tria through the buttons marked as affiliate links. MetaMask Card, ether.fi Cash, Bleap and Holyheld are not partners and are linked to their official pages without referral codes.
